Mapping out educational decisions in the policy-making process
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this work we will focus on the construction of policies and on the process of decision-making given that they both make explicit a project – or projects – of social change. (...) The object of this article is to provide a theoretical framework capable of illuminating educational decisions in the present context of sociocultural transition. To carry out this objective we shall attempt to construct a device for the mapping out of educational decisions based on three ideal types of dealing with social change. It is not our intention to provide an empirical analysis of concrete policies, but rather to offer a hermeneutical device, which allows one both to escape from the postmodernist “anything goes” and to locate political action in the new social geography of decision-making.
