Development Education in the global era Possibilities of a postcolonial reading
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper we present a review of relevant elements to understand and problematize the field of Development Education promoted by nongovernmental organizations. First, we analyse issues connected to development and globalization, vital to understand the emergence and evolution of development education. In a second moment, we systematize the concept of development education, together with two other concepts frequently considered as synonymous – global education and global citizenship education. We conclude with a postcolonial reading of tensional aspects across the field.
