Commitment to peace Educational proposals of the Portuguese protestants in the post First World War

Abstract
With this reflection, we intend to identify and analyze the reception and reaction of the Portuguese Protestant communities, either by breaking the conflict that divided Europe between 1914 and 1918 – the I World War –, both in the human and geopolitical sequelae of conflict. We will follow, through the Protestant press, on the one hand, as the Methodists, the Presbyterians and the elements of the Lusitanian Church, the main manifestations of denunciation of the conflict, being the arguments then adduced, and of course we will grasp the adhesion to the positions of Portugal when it is declared war for the Germans; and, on the other hand, we will trace the phases of mobilization of these same communities, with particular attention being paid to how the humanitarian and ecumenical proposals tested on the battle fronts and how these lessons structure the educational model disseminated after the Armistice.
