Art rooms Space for aesthetic and sensitive training in school
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article presents research conducted at the network of public schools of Itajaí (Santa
Catarina, Brazil) about the art rooms. From observations made in two schools, it was noticed the
importance of reflection and discussion on the aesthetic and sensitive spaces to art teaching. This is
a qualitative study of applied and exploratory nature. Data collection was done through surveys in
schools of that network, in order to identify which schools have art rooms, and through bibliographic
sources so as to understand the relevance of thinking about places for art teaching and aesthetic
education in school spaces. This study indicates the weaknesses and lack of spaces for art education in the investigated public schools. It is necessary to understand the school space as a possibility
for education of the senses and that an appropriate space for art interferes with the teachinglearning
process and also with the building of a more humane person.
