Abstract
We wanted to conclude this 2025 issue by emphasizing a central aspect of the editorial line of the last five years, which concerns the contribution of emerging researchers, particularly doctoral students, in the scientific field of Educational Sciences/Education. Back in 2022, an issue on the theme of Democratic Participation, Emerging Policies and Practices in Education (Torres, Monteiro, Ferreira & Zimenkova, 2022) also resulted from a similar invitation. This time, and as mentioned in the call for papers, the “objective of this issue, at the national and international level, is to encourage and support processes of dissemination and scientific writing by young researchers”. The proposed thematic lines ranged from studies focusing on children and young people in diverse educational contexts, on networking in the promotion of quality education and well-being, on transformations in higher education, to studies discussing new places and new actors in education, and the place of educational research in academia and society. This volume brings together a collection of articles that seek to discuss, from a diversity of theoretical and methodological approaches, a set of challenges that educational research faces today.
