«Illes per un pacte» When civil society stands up and speaks

Abstract
The article analyzes the role of the families in mobilizing the educational community of the Balearic Islands, during the term of the Popular Party (2011-2015). The case «Islands for a pact»
reflects the political crisis of Spanish political system, with the appearance of news new forms of participation and demands. And in this sense, it facilitates the identification and analysis of social
conditions that allow articulating a broad-based activism, such as: the legitimacy of an open process (2.0) of deliberative democracy, that manages to formulate an education pact; the disappearance of the traditional actors (unions and parties) of the scene; the prevalence of the common against particularities; and the attachment to community values as key to success.
