Building a democratic school through the "field of pedagogical recontextualisation"
Main Article Content
Abstract
The first part of this article presents a ‘non-synchronic’ approach to education and cultural diversity as an alternative to the proposals for Inter/multicultural Education and the Neo-Marxist critique. Taking a ‘politics of difference’ as its starting point, this approach not only promotes the ‘noise’ of multidimensionality, but also refuses to divide society into separate domains of structure and culture. The second part of the article deals with the construction of the concept of the inter/multicultural teacher through the field of pedagogical recontextualisation. In summary, it is argued that it is the counter-hegemonic construction of the pedagogical device, through a critical action research methodology, that makes it possible to realise non-synchrony in the form of a ‘politics of difference’.
