Resumo
Este artigo resulta de uma investigação etnográfica realizada numa escola básica da República Checa no âmbito de uma tese de doutoramento defendida em janeiro de 2010. A pesquisa, que foi realizada numa turma com alunos dos 11 aos 13 anos, focalizou-se na (re)produção de género no contexto de sala de aula. A análise apresentada inspira-se no argumento de Valerie Walkerdine (1990) de que o género é teorizado como ficção, apresentado como fantasia, ainda que vivido como facto, e produzido e lutado no interior de práticas quotidianas escolares reguladoras. Utilizando a técnica da expressão escrita, procurou-se analisar o papel do género na imaginação das crianças.
