The Public Space Journal (ISSN 3051-8423) is a publication of the University of Porto, edited by U.Porto Press, associated with the research units CENP, CEGOT, CIBIO and CITTA, articulating the faculties FAUP, FCUP, FEUP and FLUP. It is transversal to Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, and welcomes original scientific articles and reviews on urban space and its dynamics.

It is an innovative publication as it brings together the areas of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Territorial Planning and Urbanism.

The domain of the perspective of "futures" and the intersection between theoretical, empirical and project knowledge is of great interest and potential. Given the cross-disciplinary nature of the journal, it is also an opportunity to publish original interdisciplinary material, both written and graphic, which will be of interest to a large number of senior and junior researchers.

Vol. 1 No. 1 (2026): Revista Espaço Público | Public Space Journal

Open to quality, novelty, and transdisciplinarity, in contributions of expertise or a more integrated approach, the journal is an initiative of the University of Porto involving FAUP, FCUP, FEUP, and FLUP, as well as the research centers CENP, CEGOT, CIBIO, and CITTA. This institutional diversity is reflected in its commitment to scientific breadth and openness to academics, students, professionals, artists, activists, and citizens, all of whom are invited to contribute bold, consistent, and creative proposals.

Public Space aims to be an editorial platform for debate, exhibition, and transformation, a place where thought becomes public, shared, and provocative. It is in the confrontation between visions, languages, and knowledge that the public space is truly constructed.
