A educação sexual e os pontos de vista dos jovens sobre género e sexualidade em escolas portuguesas

Resumo
Este artigo reconhece a educação sexual como um espaço de cidadania sexual e igualdade de género para a juventude. Apesar dos debates públicos mais abertos que têm marcado a implementação da educação sexual nas escolas portuguesas nas últimas três décadas, a relação entre educação e sexualidade continua a ser encarada como um «problema» e não como um direito de cidadania. Indo para além das abordagens centradas na saúde, este artigo explora novas possibilidades da educação sexual a partir dos conceitos de cidadania sexual e íntima. Em primeiro lugar, procede-se a um breve mapeamento sobre os avanços e recuos das políticas de educação sexual e de género em Portugal. Em segundo lugar, interpretam-se as perspetivas de jovens sobre as suas sexualidades, especificamente experiências de pressão e desejo sexual e as implicações da educação sexual nas relações íntimas, a partir da análise de entrevistas a estudantes (rapazes e raparigas) do ensino básico e secundário. Por fim, tomando em consideração as perspetivas dos/as jovens, torna-se central repensar a educação sexual para ultrapassar as questões e constrangimentos para que possa ser criada uma agenda educativa para a cidadania e igualdade de género.
