Call For Articles for The PUBLIC SPACE Journal's of First Issue
Posted on 2023-11-29Revista ESPAÇO PÚBLICO |The PUBLIC SPACE Journal: Calls are now open for articles for the inaugural Issue 1, with the theme “The search for a better common space”, which will feature texts/articles by recognised national and international experts, some of whom are members of the journal's Scientific Council.
Public space is a space for meeting and sharing, whose perception and meaning vary according to its design, context and practices, acquiring different values for each person. It is no longer seen as a simple dichotomy between public and private space, but rather as the provisional result of a construction that results from a process moulded by public policies, management and social, ecological (or environmental) interactions. Public space, whether more or less natural or artificial, modest or monumental, for enjoyment or contemplation, truly public or concessioned (or privatised?) and in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, is vital for collective life, political action, social interaction and personal development.
For the first issue of this magazine dedicated to it, the call for articles asks for contributions to find ways of thinking about it and projecting it into the future, in all its diversity, in the face of contemporary challenges, particularly those of inclusion and sustainability.
