About the Journal
The Public Space Journal is a publication of the University of Porto, edited by U.Porto Press, associated with the research units CEAU, CEGOT, CIBIO and CITTA, articulating the faculties FAUP, FCUP, FEUP and FLUP.
Main goals of the Public Space Journal
a) To promote and disseminate fundamental and applied research, valuing visual elements associated with plans, projects and studies of urbanism, urban environment and design.
b) To contribute to the understanding of the change in the city and urban space in general, associated with reading the way we plan, design, build and manage space, given the challenges and perspectives facing society.
c) To promote transdisciplinary research and in border areas of different scientific disciplines associated with the study and intervention in the urban environment.
The aimed impact of the Public Space Journal
It is an innovative publication as it brings together the areas of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Territorial Planning and Urbanism.
The domain of the perspective of "futures" and the intersection between theoretical, empirical and project knowledge is of great interest and potential. Given the cross-disciplinary nature of the journal, it is also an opportunity to publish original interdisciplinary material, both written and graphic, which will be of interest to a large number of senior and junior researchers.
Publishing details
Periodicity: published bianually (May / November).
Submission process: 1) Submissions via OJS and 2) single-blind peer-review.
ETHICS, GOOD PRACTICES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL PARTIES
The Public Space Journal is committed to ensuring the highest ethical standards at all stages of the publication process and adopts the principles and recommendations of good publishing practices from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE, www.publicationethics.org).
The agreement of all parties involved in the act of publication (members of the Editorial Board, members of the Scientific Committee, authors and reviewers) regarding ethical behaviour standards is required.
Texts that are identified as plagiarism or whose content is fraudulent will not be published. All articles will be validated using computer fraud detection tools.
