The International Drawing and Photography Contest (DPIc) – Architecture, Art and Image continues to position itself as a platform for critical and creative exploration across the fields of Architecture, Art and Image. Since its first edition, DPIc has brought together students and young researchers from diverse geographical and disciplinary contexts, fostering dialogue between academia and society through visual and conceptual experimentation.
Integrated within the scopio Magazine AAI publication, DPIc has consistently engaged with pressing contemporary questions, previously focusing on the theme of “Utopia” as a driver for rethinking space, representation and future possibilities.
For its 2026 edition, DPIc introduces the theme (Dis)Placement, shifting from utopia as projection to utopia as a critical method for reading the present. In a context marked by instability, migration and spatial rupture, (Dis)Placement emerges not only as a condition, but as a lens through which to question belonging, identity and permanence.
Rather than documenting movement, this edition seeks images that operate as provocations, repositioning how space is read and opening fragile possibilities within unstable grounds.
Participants will be invited to develop a visual diptych and a short manifesto, engaging (Dis)Placement as both condition and catalyst. Through drawing, photography and other visual practices, submissions are expected to question, reinterpret and expand current understandings of space and its representations.
Full call details and submission guidelines will be released in June 2026.
Deadline for the submission of projects: 31 of October, 2026.
